Will the Kingston NV3 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2230 SSD (SNV3SM3/1T0) work with the ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI (DDR5)?
Yes, with conditions. Works only with the M.2 2230-to-2242 extender bracket.
Both records are reviewed against the manufacturers' sources; sources last checked 2026-10-13. Informational only: confirm with the manufacturer before buying.
Why
- ✓ A 2230 drive is shorter than the 22110 bay, which has no 2230 mounting point.
- ✓ NVMe is supported by this slot.
Conditions
- M.2 2230-to-2242 extender bracket: The slot has no 2230 mounting point.
Good to know
- The manufacturer lists only 2242/2260/2280/22110 mounting points. It works only with an M.2 2230-to-2242 extender bracket (not included) to secure the drive.
