Compatibility answer

Will the Philips Hue White and Colour Ambiance A60 E27 smart bulb (810 lm, UK/EU 230V) work with the Philips Hue Bridge (square, 2nd gen)?

Yes, with conditions. Works, but it also needs Zigbee hub.

Both records are reviewed against the manufacturers' sources; sources last checked 2026-10-14. Informational only: confirm with the manufacturer before buying.

Why

  • ✓ Both use Philips Hue Bridge (Hue Bridge or Hue Bridge Pro).

Conditions

  • Zigbee hub: Needs another device that provides Zigbee hub.

Good to know

  • Hue products connected only over Bluetooth cannot be used with Matter; Matter support comes via the Hue Bridge.
  • The standard Hue Bridge supports up to 50 lights and 12 accessories; the Hue Bridge Pro supports 150+ lights and 50+ accessories.
  • The Hue Play HDMI Sync Box and the dial on the Tap Dial Switch do not support Matter.
  • It also relies on Zigbee hub, which this device doesn't provide. You may need another device in the home that does.
